Town of Rye to begin using the NH-ENS Alert System
The State of New Hampshire has an emergency notification system known as “NH-ENS”. The NH-ENS alert system may be used to broadcast emergency alert messages to inform citizens of a situation requiring immediate attention such as severe weather conditions (hurricanes, tornadoes, ice storm, ect) evacuations, missing child alert, boil water notifications and hazardous material incidents. Outbound messages can be broadcast for voice, text messaging and e-mail. NH-ENS alert system has a list of all E-911 customers in the State of New Hampshire. The State of New Hampshire and the Town of Rye are encouraging you to sign up your cell phone numbers and e-mail address to receive emergency notifications. Based on your personal preference, alerts will be delivered via phone call, text message, email or a combination of all three. Go to http://www.nhe911.org/selfregistration to sign up.
