Hiring Part Time Police Prosecutor
Rye Police Department is hiring a part-time Police Prosecutor.
The prosecutor position will work under the direct supervision of the Police Lieutenant. The prosecutor will review and prepare Circuit Court Cases, Superior Court Cases, Juvenile Court Cases, and Motor Vehicle Cases for prosecution purposes. The prosecutor will ensure all discovery requirements and timelines by RSA or case laws have been met. The prosecutor will draft court complaints and review all court complaints prepared by the department. The prosecutor will review police case files for completeness, or more specifically, review incident reports, supplemental reports, statements of defendant(s), statements of victims and any witnesses. He/she will also review all available accident reports, blood and alcohol test results for D.W.I/accident cases, physical evidence, pre-trial motions, and previous criminal history records on defendants. Must possess a High school diploma or G.E.D., along with a valid US state driver’s license. Must be a member of the New Hampshire Bar, Licensed Attorney. Must have graduated from a school of law, accredited by the American Bar Association, with a Juris Doctor Degree. Should have at least 6 months – 1-year experience in the practice of law, including trial work, as a legal intern, law clerk, or practicing attorney is preferred.
